Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! If you read this blog on a regular basis you’ll know that I’m a big fan of the 8Bitdo line of controllers. A lot of their controllers strongly resemble the SNES style controller which looking back is my favorite controller of all time. I’m still trying to wonder why Nintendo went from that perfect design to the hideous design that is the N64 controller. I hate to admit but that N64 controller is horrible. Even if it came in a million and one different colors. But today I’m going to unbox a controller from 8Bitdo. It is their SN30 Pro G Edition. It has a color scheme very similar to the Game Boy. If you are interested in picking one up I’ll leave an Amazon link at the very end of the post.

As you can see it comes in a rectangular box.

Color is very similar to the original Game Boy. Even the d-pad resembles the original Game Boy. I think that is pretty cool.

Aside from the d-pad two shoulder buttons on each side. Your start and select buttons. Thumb sticks that also press down. Your normal face buttons A, B, X, Y. and two buttons below that. One with the 8Bitdo logo, and another one with a star.

If you look on the back of the controller it’ll tell you how to sync it with the Switch, Android, Windows and Mac. If you look in the box further there are some more detailed instructions on syncing. Make sure you visit support.8bitdo.com for the latest firmware updates.

It uses a USB-C cord to charge. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a power brick you can plug into the wall but you should have some laying around right?

I feel that it is perfect for the switch because the home button can just take you right back to the home screen when playing a game. It also works well with PC and Android devices as well. I don’t have a Mac so I can’t give my two cents on that but if anyone has used it on a Mac let me know in the comments.

In addition you can also use this for Steam and on your Raspberry Pi. Possibilities are endless I feel.

Overall I feel that this a great controller. I use the original SN30 Pro on my Switch all the time. And the SF30 Pro on my Windows PC. I feel they are great alternatives if you think the Switch Pro Controller or adding additional joy-cons are a bit steep. I feel it just gives you as a consumer an alternative to work with.

However I want to know what you guys think? Do you own this controller or any other 8Bitdo products? Are you thinking about investing in one. Let me know in the comments below. Until next time! Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! Remember that TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE! Thanks for reading folks. More great content coming. Be sure to check out 8Bitdo for more great accessories for your gaming needs.
