Sony Finally Allows Cross-Platform Play!

Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! So two days ago something big happened in the world of gaming. It was definitely a win for the gamers. Sony finally caved and gave us what we wanted. They are going to allow cross-platform play to happen. This is definitely huge. I knew it was eventually going to happen sometime down the line but I figured it would happen much later rather than sooner. Especially with Sony’s stance on cross-platform play.

According The Verge Sony is going to allow cross-platform play with Fortnite. I don’t see what the big fuss is about with that game but I guess it is taking the world by storm. And it’s leading the way with cross-platform play among the three major platforms (PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch). This is definitely groundbreaking. With Fortnite’s success and the people over at Epic Games finally being able to get this to happen it will for sure pave the way for other games to have cross-platform play among the three major platforms. Games such as Rocket League, and Minecraft I’m sure will have it soon. But what about other franchises such as Call of Duty, Battlefield and perhaps maybe even Destiny? I really see this as  reality now. And I see it coming much sooner rather than later. Even though I’m not a big fan of Fortnite! This is the game I have to thank for making this happen! LOL!

I’ve been blogging about cross-platform play happening since my first post on this website. And I truly believe that this is future of gaming when it comes to third party multiplayer games. You have to wonder what Sony finally give in. I think they were getting a lot of hate from the other platforms, and of course Epic Games. But when you start to get hate from the gamers that’s when action must be taken. Let’s not forget Sony has been arrogant in the past. They can’t afford to do something that is going to piss the gaming community off. Especially with them on top. Everyone is gunning for them. And I’m sure Microsoft and Nintendo will take advantage if Sony has any lapses. Sony has worked too hard to have the crown taken from them. So that’s my theory as to why Sony caved in to cross-platform play. Now hopefully they’ll lift the ban and now I can use my Epic Games account on the Nintendo Switch. I know many made another account. But I think there is a way you can merge them. But maybe you might see me playing Fortnite. And that’s a BIG maybe!
