Nintendo Online Service launch date announced!

Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! I got some news for you those who have been patiently awaiting Nintendo’s online service to drop. The good news is we got an expected launch date, prices and a little bit of further detail. The bad news is you’ll have to wait just a bit longer for it to come out. Months longer!

So this online service Nintendo is expected to launch in September of 2018. That’s about another eight months away from now. Which is the bad news. Over a year after the Nintendo Switch launches we finally get an online service that comes along with it. With this much waiting Nintendo better make it well worth the wait. How about some apps to stream our gameplay with Twitch or YouTube, voice chat apps that actually work so we don’t have to use the 3rd party Discord, and more video apps besides Hulu can come along with this service as well Nintendo? We will have to wait and see. The prices seem to make it worth though. They have confirmed that there will be three subscription plans as follows: $3.99 a month, $7.99 for three months, and $19.99 for an entire year. Wait did I read that right? $19.99 for a full 12 months. I don’t think that will be around too long so if you are going to get this the smart thing to do would be to pay $19.99 for a full year. That’s a steal right there for us the players if you ask me. Maybe it’s to make up for having to wait so long for online and for a crappy Wii U console. The service is going to offer online play which I’m assuming is better than what they have right now. The service is also going to have access to classic video games. So it sounds like it isn’t going to be called Virtual Console after all which is what I’ve been predicting all along. And it also sounds like they won’t be going with their mini console editions to be the only way to access classic Nintendo content. The only bad thing with this is you have to wait for it. Until then if you want to play some classic retro games either get the NES or SNES Classic, play Virtual Console on your Wii or Wii U, or download yourself an emulator and look for some Roms while you’re at it. I really hope they bring in GameCube games into the classic games section of this online service. That would make it complete.

So are you happy with what Nintendo announced regarding the online service? Me personally I want an announcement on when we’re getting Netfilx, YouTube, Twitch, and more video apps besides Hulu. As for the Virtual Console I got emulators so I’m good for now! But I want to know what you guys think. Let me know in the comments below.
