Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! Do you love movies? Of course you all do! Ok maybe some of you don’t. But I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who have movie collections. Now some people take pride in their collections. Other people however there are probably a mixture of DVDs and Blu-Rays, maybe even VHS. Do you wish that you could have your movie collection in the cloud and watch them where ever you go? What if I told you there is a way to convert your physical copy of a movie to a digital copy. I’m not sure if it works for VHS but if you have DVDs and Blu-Rays you are in luck.
The name of the app is called VUDU. It’s owned by Walmart and if you are a Walmart shopper you have probably heard of it. If you have a bought a Blu-Ray recently you have probably seen a code to have a digital copy of the movie. If you ever see this take advantage. You’ll never want to own a physical copy of a movie ever again once you discover what VUDU is. It’s an online movie store. You can rent and own movies. You can either watch them in SD (standard definition) or HDX (VUDU high definition). If you rent a movie you have 30 days to start watching it. Once you start watching it you have 48 hours to finish the movie. If you own the movie it is yours to watch whenever you want and on any device you have the app installed on.
Now you may ask what’s the monthly fee on this? Absolutely nothing. No monthly fee and the app is free to download and install. If you look in the right places they’ll even give you free movies for you to watch. And since it is in the cloud you don’t have to worry about filling up a hard drive. It is unlimited. A lot of different titles are available on the VUDU store you’ll be blown away. I feel that the future has already come and brick and mortar stores selling physical copies of movies will be going away sometime in the next ten years. Let’s see if we see the same trend with video games. Now if you see a title that you already own on the VUDU store don’t buy it again. The app has a scan your movie feature. And you can pay a reduced price to have it converted. If you have a Blu-Ray to convert it to HDX is $2. If you have a DVD to convert it to SD is $2 and to convert it to HDX is $5. Not all titles may be available but like I said they have many titles available. If you want an idea of what’s available I just converted my wife’s Harry Potter Collection. And the app to do the conversions is pretty simple to use. Just make sure to have the original packaging so you can scan the barcode.
Overall the only thing missing on this thing is TV shows. I feel they don’t have a lot of TV show titles. I would love to convert some of my favorite TV shows. But until I see more of these titles on there I’ll just have to wait for now. Hopefully I gave you another piece of good tech advice you can use in your everyday life. Are you going to download and check out the VUDU app? Please let me know in the comments below. Once again blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL!
