Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL! So it seems like rumors about the PS5 are heating up. I did poll a while back asking readers when they thought the PS5 would be coming. Recently in gaming news it seems as if bloggers, YouTubers, and content creators from all walks of life have been talking about the PS5. As if it is coming out this year. Time to put in my two cents. Time to go on a rant!
Let me keep this simple people. NO! The PS5 is not coming out in 2018. It probably won’t even be announced at E3. Now if I’m wrong about it not coming out this year I’ll eat my words. But we have to take a couple things into consideration. Let’s start by going back to the PS3. It came out in November of 2006. The PS4 came out 7 years laters in 2013. Now if you do the math that is only 5 years. Let the PS4 run its course before we start talking about a new console.
Another reason why the PS5 is not coming out in 2018 is because there are still a ton of games announced for the PS4. PS4 exclusive games such as Days Gone, The Last of Us Part II, and Spider-Man. It would be a slap in the face to the studios making those games if they had to make it on a much powerful engine which would be the PS5. I look at those games alone and just think to myself why in the hell would Sony want to put out the PS5 this year. Sounds crazy if you ask me.
Another thing that sounds crazy is the fact that they are winning the console wars right now. They are beating Nintendo, and Microsoft. It’s not even close the amount of units they sold compared to that of the Xbox One. With the PS4 looking to be one of their best selling consoles of all time it would not be a smart move to put out the PS5 this year. Honestly truthfully there is no reason to.
Lastly Sony would have a lot of pissed off people if they did this. The PS4 Pro hasn’t even been out two years. It would be a slap in the face to anyone who bought that. Especially paying for it at its price point when it first came out. I feel if they put out the PS5 this year it would not only be a stupid move but they would risk losing money, and fans. There’s no reason to do this Sony. You guys are winning the battle of the consoles. And you still have games that probably won’t be released until 2019. Oh and it hasn’t been seven years. Five years for a console life cycle I feel is a bit short (unless it’s the Wii U).
So what are your thoughts? Do you think Sony really does this? Answer my poll on it if you didn’t see it. Thanks for baring with me during this rant. I just really feel that Sony doing that would be a very bad business decision. Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your TWOTALL4UFOOL. Remember that TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE! Agree with everything you said, especially this!
Not sure where this PS5 rumor came from, but it makes no sense. Are the lifespans of consoles getting shorter? Would be interesting to see what the time jumps are between each generation. That said, I’m still playing games on the Wii and PS3!

I don’t know where this rumor is coming from either. Kind of just came out of nowhere if you ask me. It needs to go st least 7 years before the next one comes out. Hopefully we hear nothing of it when E3 comes around.

It would be too soon if they put out a PS5 this year. Not to mention a lot of disappointed people.

I’m torn! It’s like part of me really wants it to come out this year, because Sony never puts out a garbage console. But another part of me is saying, wait simply because the PS4 is still doing so well and it is a very impressive system. Not to mention the fact that between the switch, snes, the new sega console, and mobile gaming successes I just cant keep up. Uggh 🙂
