Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL. So the Nintendo Switch has been out just about a year now! Even though its paid online hasn’t come out yet (though we do have a date now), it is the fastest selling console of all time with hopes that more are sold in it’s second year. But one thing I have a problem is why developers still refuse to put certain games out on the Switch. Now these games I am going to talk about in this post are games I feel should be on the Switch. They have already been released and some of these games were even released originally on Nintendo platforms. So let’s dive right in.
Let’s start with EA. A company that has been under fire for the past couple months with the whole Battlefront 2 microtransactions mess. They are remastering the game Burnout Paradise. Probably not the best Burnout game since this one was very similar to a Need For Speed game, but hey at least we are going to get a great racing game in 2018. Considering Need For Speed Payback isn’t too hot. Now it’s coming out next month for the PS4 and Xbox One. This is a last gen game for the PS3 and Xbox 360. So since this is a last gen game ‘Why is this game not coming to the Nintendo Switch?’. Now we know the Switch can run this game. If it can run L.A. Noire it can certainly run Burnout Paradise. EA I feel is just losing out on money here. And the selection of racing games for the Nintendo Switch isn’t all that great in my opinion. So this would do a killing on the Nintendo Switch. If it did make it to the Switch it would give MarioKart 8 Deluxe a run for its money. (Ok I won’t go that far). Anyway if you have a PS4 or an Xbox One definitely check this game out. A review is coming soon folks.
The second game I want to talk about is The Secret of Mana. Probably one of the greatest RPG’s of all time. It made the cut for the SNES Classic Edition so if you have one of those definitely check it out if you have some time. Anyway the game just went through a remake and it came to the PS4, PS Vita, and PC. I think that it’s pretty cool that SquareEnix would remake this classic game and bring it to current gen consoles. But I have one question. ‘Why is this game not on the Nintendo Switch’? And I know it’s not on the Xbox either so Xbox fans have something to pout about here also. But this classic was originally on the SNES. So I’m scratching my head here. Last I checked I thought Nintendo and Square were on good terms. Maybe they’ll put out something on the Swtich later on down the line. Let’s hope. But what’s weird to me is they put the whole collection on the Switch last year. Even though it was a Japanese release you would think that Square would’ve pushed for it to be on the Switch and even Xbox as well. That’s kind of puzzling.
The last game I want to talk about here is actually a set of games. It was a collection that came out last year shortly after the Nintendo Switch’s launch. Capcom released these games. Yes I am talking about the Disney Afternoon Collection. Disney Afternoon for those of you that don’t know was a programming block of Disney animated shows that ran from the early 90’s to the mid to late 90’s. It kind of went away quietly. Anyway the games on this collection are DuckTales 1 & 2, Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck. All six of these games were on the NES. TaleSpin however did have a version of it’s game on the Sega Genesis but it was made by a different developer and it’s a completely different game. But anyway ‘Why did these games not make it to the Nintendo Switch?’. Now for a guy like me I can run these games all day on emulators. NES games are pretty easy to emulate but what about the people who aren’t fans of emulation? I understand this collection came out in the Switch’s beginning but with as much noise as the Switch has made you think it would be available on the Nintendo eShop by now. Capcom is putting out those old Mega Man Collections on the Switch. Hopefully they do the same for the Disney Afternoon Collection. We can only hope right!
So these are the games that I really feel should be on the Nintendo Switch. I’m sure I may have missed a game but these are the games I felt needed to be mentioned. But do you guys have a list of games that should be on the Switch? Let me know in the comments below. If you like this post give it a like, and subscribe if you haven’t already.
