International Start A Blog Day! (Shout out to ProBlogger)

International-Start-a-Blog-Day-2018

Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL. I got to give a big shout out to Darren Rowse and the ProBlogger team over at ProBlogger.com. It’s because of the team over there that I have gotten back into blogging and I feel like I learned so much from them by listening to the podcast they have, and taking a course they offered early this year entitled The Ultimate Guide To Starting A Blog. So I decided to take this course and I was very blown away by it. Learning so much from Darren his team and the other students in the course through our private Facebook group has been a blast and has given me motivation to do what I love doing and sharing it with you followers.

So today with it being Feb. 7th Darren decided to declare this day International Start A Blog Day! He did a Facebook Live video and featured some of the blogs that were launched (either today or during the course). He mainly featured bloggers who submitted videos about what their blog is and what important value they learned from the course. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a video done so he didn’t showcase this blog. But I and about 100 more blogs were featured in the honor roll. So if you click here you’ll see my blog and a bunch of other blogs that just recently launched. I personally am excited for all the blogs that just launched and wish them nothing but the best of luck in 2018 and beyond.

It has me thinking what I expect for this blog and beyond and believe me I have a whole ton of ideas. I feel like I’m doing it the right way this time. Now a little story for you guys. When I launched my YouTube channel midway through last year I felt like it had no direction. I was just making a video here and there of a game I was currently playing or a retro game. Kind of dull if you really think about it. When I put out that last video I did in August or whenever it was I just thought to myself what am I doing this channel? I had a blog to compliment the channel but it just didn’t feel right and when I would blog I felt like I was burning myself out. And it was through Blogger and I have nothing against Blogger but WordPress and Blogger I feel are worlds part. So I left it alone for a few months pretty much the rest of the year. Then some of my friends started asking me what’s going on with your YouTube channel. I told them I would be bringing it back soon. I know it looked abandoned (and still does but getting better) but I had to figure out how to just get back into making gaming videos. I then some how found ProBlogger by accident I think. I was curious so I checked it out and I was amazed with what I saw. Hearing Darren’s podcasts full of tips, and stories from other bloggers about how they started out and where they are now really inspired me to just get back into it. I knew I had to do things differently this time.

So I reactivated my old WordPress account and just went for it. Taking advice from the course when it started really helped me a lot. And the most important thing I’ve learned and I guess this would be my advice to any other bloggers or anyone wanting to start a blog is to make your blog the foundation. Make your blog the foundation of where you want to go and then everything else will fall into place much easier. And another thing I tell myself everyday is not to lose focus and remember why you are doing this. The mistake I feel I made was trying to make my YouTube channel the foundation. Now it’s the other way around. My YouTube compliments my blog. I’m no expert but if you have any thoughts or just want to add anything please let me know in the comments below. If you are interested in this course I took click the link right here. ProBlogger has another course coming later in the spring so take a look at that as well. If you have an established blog you never know you may pick up something you never knew. Blogging live to you and yours! It’s your boy TWOTALL4UFOOL. Remember TOGETHER EVERYONE ACHIEVES MORE! Thanks for reading folks and please subscribe if you haven’t already! Have a good one!
